Ateneo High School Batch 83 sponsors scholarship to the College of Education

In gratitude to the University for the excellent Jesuit education they have enjoyed and in celebration of their Silver Jubilee year, the Ateneo High School Batch 83 granted  full scholarship to Mr. Raphael “Raffy” Martin R. His father ,Donald Magno, is a member of HS Batch 81.  As a scholar, Raffy, has to maintain a Quality Point Index (QPI) of not less than 3.20 every semester. The scholarship includes full tuition and other fees as well as uniform and textbook allowances.

The formal signing of the Scholarship Contract was held last May 31, 2008  at the Office of the University President.  Raffy and his father, signed together with Batch '83 Representatives Vic de Lima and Eric Zaens . The Father President himself, Fr. Joel Tabora, S.J., together with Dr. Arnulfo Aaron R. Reganit, Dean of the College of Education and High School '83 member, stood as witnesses to the contract signing.  Also in attendance were Batch '83 members  Ed Balcueva,Bobby Castilla,Judge Jun Cereno, Arnulfo Aaron R. Reganit, Ed Balcueva, Bobby Castilla, Jojo Alferez,  Joseph Dychinco, Raoul Herras, Mike Reburiano,  and Allen Tolledo.

Fr. Tabora expressed his deep gratitude for the scholarship. He was doubly happy to know that HS Batch 83 elected to give scholarship for a College of Education student.  Mr. Vic de Lima assured the President that HS Batch 83 will continue to support the scholarship thrust of the University. He also expressed hope that his Batch will continue to raise funds to be able to send more students to the College of Education.

Aside from the scholarship grant, other homecoming activities undertaken by the HS Batch '83  in its Silver Jubilee year included sponsorship of alumni mass last January and the green project at the high school campus last March. Up next is a fund-raising golf tournament in Manila on July.
