ADNUGAA officers meet Fr. Jun
The Ateneo de Naga University General Alumni Association (ADNUGAA) officers met Fr. Jun Viray, AdNU’s new president last July 19. The officers presented and discussed with Fr. Jun the following matters: the re-establishment of the alumni office, homecoming activities, a Fr. Bonoan icon, a new alumni ID, the A-League, and a proposal on the Outstanding Alumni Awards.
Fr. Jun was supportive of the association’s plans. He reported that there is already ground work in re-opening of the alumni office in the campus this year. In principle he agreed on the enhancement of the alumni ID in terms of design and benefits. For alumni groups to use campus facilities, like the gym, they only need to communicate with Fr. Jun or the alumni affairs, as long as the request does not disrupt academic and institutional activities. The proposals for a Fr. Raul Bonoan icon and the conferment of an Outstanding Alumni Awards were very much open for discussion and future implementation.
Plans for a new building was also shared to provide much needed classrooms, and a larger cafeteria for faculty, staff, and students. Fr. Jun shared to the officers that the university is ready to provide continuing formation for all alumni who are willing to rekindle and grow in Ignatian spirituality.
The officers that attended the courtesy call were president Enrico Evangelista (HS ’86), treasurer Nonno Aquino (HS’86), PIO Digz Villabroza (HS ’65), and board members Euphi Peñano (HS ‘92) and Dr. Sancho Tolentino, Jr. (HS’ 85) with the presence of Karl Llorin (HS’ 95/ Coll ’99), the presidential assistant for international relations alumni affairs.
