AA League 2011 opens

September 25, Sunday—After the Sunday mass sponsored by the Ateneo Alumni League (AA League) organizers HS Batch 90 and HS Batch 92, the opening ceremonies was held at the historic Ateneo Gym.

The ADENUBENTA, Inc. (ADNU HS Batch 1990) sponsors this year’s AA League with the theme Kawat Burun-yog. The AA League is a friendly competition of all ADNU HS Batches to play basketball.

The opening program was graced by the AdNUGAA Secretary Rodel L. Ortañez and University President Fr. Jun Viray. The Fr. Jun reminded the batches that the league’s purpose is to ‘unite’ and not to ‘divide’ them. Leading the program was HS Batch 90 President Sonny Rivera.

Mr. Jimmy Cadores, former P.E. mentor of most high school boys gave a special message, expressed his happiness with the attendance and the participation of the batches, and announced his last year here at the Ateneo.

In the afternoon, the first set of games began. The competition will run until December 24, 2011. Games are scheduled every Saturday (1:30-6:00 pm) at the covered courts (near Football field), and on Sundays (1:00-7:00 pm) at the gym, beginning October 1 and 2.
