Ateneo de Naga Alumni Association, Northeast Chapter, Inc.
The ADNAA Northeast are graduates of the Ateneo de Naga University residing in North Eastern US with the common goal of assisting the poor but deserving students to obtain Jesuit education through Perpetual Scholarship Funds established at the Ateneo de Naga University in Naga City, Philippines.
In October 1990, Fr. Jack Phelan, S.J., visited the Tri-state area (New York, New Jersey, Connecticut) and an informal gathering of Ateneo alumni took place. Fr. Raul Bonoan, S.J., came on two separate occasions, in 1991 and 1994. He spoke of the challenges facing the Ateneo de Naga and presented the concept of the Perpetual Scholarship Fund. He appealed to the alumni to participate in the school mission of providing quality education in the Bicol region.
In October 1994, Ateneo de Naga Alumni in the tri-state area organized and elected their first officers. On August 1997, it was incorporated earning tax-exempt status in New Jersey. ADNAA, USA NORTHEAST CHAPTER, INC hosted the 4th International All-Ateneo Convention 2000, the first convention in the Northeastern US and in the second Millennium.
